Teach-Back Error Clinic

35 / 38

One student diagnoses the error; another states the rule; a third gives a new correct example. Reveal only after all three speak.

“Because the class was difficult.”

Fragment. Because introduces a dependent clause. Complete it: Because the class was difficult, we studied together.

“She are ready.”

Agreement error. Third-person singular “she” takes “is”: She is ready.

“He wears an uniform.”

Sound error. Uniform begins with a consonant “y” sound: He wears a uniform.

“The life is hard.”

General abstract noun error. Drop the article: Life is hard.

“I am student.”

Singular count noun error. Add an article: I am a student.

“The student with the red book.”

Fragment. It has a subject but no complete verb phrase: The student with the red book is waiting.

DIAGNOSE → TEACH → CREATE → CHECK

Tips

Teach-Back Error Clinic

  1. Nombra el diagnóstico antes de corregir: fragment, agreement, sound, general noun o missing article.
  2. Explica la regla primero en español si lo necesitas; después produce la oración inglesa completa.
  3. Crea un ejemplo nuevo con la misma regla para comprobar que entendiste el patrón y no solo memorizaste la respuesta.
